Ugandan singer Echoled is set to headline the Afro Migration Festival 2026, bringing his AfroR&B, Dancehall and urban kadongo kamu sound to Jinja for the three-day cultural celebration.
The festival is scheduled for October 9 to 11, 2026, at Nile Nest Resort, where music, art, fashion, food and riverside camping will come together for an Independence Weekend experience along the River Nile.
For Echoled, the headline slot is another step in the rise of an artist who has been carving out a distinctive space in Uganda’s music scene.
Known for blending contemporary urban sounds with elements of AfroR&B, Dancehall and kadongo kamu, Echoled has gradually built a following around his emotionally driven music. His recent release, “Home Alone,” has further introduced audiences to his evolving sound.
His appearance at Afro Migration is expected to be one of the festival’s major musical highlights, with fans set to see the artist take the main stage during the Independence Weekend celebrations.
The festival organisers say Echoled’s selection reflects their desire to put Ugandan and East African talent at the centre of the experience.
“Echoled represents the new wave of Ugandan music authentic, energetic, and deeply connected to the culture,” the festival team said. “Having him headline Afro Migration 2026 is a powerful statement of where the festival is headed.”
Beyond the music, Afro Migration Festival is designed as a broader cultural experience, combining live performances with art, fashion, food and camping. The riverside setting at Nile Nest Resort is expected to add to the festival’s laid-back outdoor atmosphere.
With Echoled leading the musical lineup, attention now shifts to the remaining artists and activities expected across the three-day programme.
