If there is one thing Amapiano knows how to do, it is turn a good afternoon into a full-blown party.
This Sunday, Kampala gets a taste of that South African energy when Boohle, the voice behind some of Amapiano’s biggest singalong moments, takes over 1420 on Luthuli Avenue for Don Julio’s Summer Active.
The South African star, real name Buhlebevangeli Hlengiwe Manyathi, arrives in Kampala on September 20, bringing the sound behind hits such as Siyathandana, Pillow Talk, Ngbambe Duze and Woza.
For anyone who has watched a Kampala dance floor erupt when Siyathandana comes on, Boohle’s arrival promises more than another international performance. It is a chance to experience the voice behind the records live, in a setting built for a long Sunday of music, drinks and socialising.
Boohle will headline a line-up featuring some of Uganda’s familiar DJ names, including DJ Dash, DJ Ssese, City Girl, DJ Ames and Etania. Their back-to-back sets will keep the soundtrack moving as the afternoon develops into an evening of Amapiano and contemporary African sounds.
At the heart of the experience will be Don Julio, bringing its premium tequila offering to the party through bottle serves, perfect serves, cocktails and shots.
