On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Vienna College Namugongo welcomed back former students for its first-ever alumni dinner. The event marked a major highlight in the school’s ongoing silver jubilee celebrations, which have been unfolding throughout the year.

As guests arrived, the air was filled with excitement. The atmosphere buzzed with elegance, reconnection, and shared memories. Alumni from various years reunited to reflect on their time at Vienna, rekindle friendships, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
Each speech during the evening served as a poignant reminder of the school’s impact. Mr. Okello Baldwin, Chief Technical Officer at Hamilton Telecom and a proud alumnus, emphasised the value of a united alumni network. He encouraged former students to see their involvement as a long-term investment in the future of young learners.

Vienna College Alumni Association To Soar To Greater Heights
Another inspiring voice was that of Professor Rachel Mindra Katoroogo, head of the Faculty of Commerce at Makerere University Business School. She reminded attendees of the power of collective commitment. “We must harness community not just for ourselves but for those who will come after us,” she shared.
Mr. Larry Okutho described the dinner as a “spark” that would ignite lasting momentum in the alumni community. Meanwhile, alumnus Alex Busingye reflected that the evening was more than a reunion, but a recommitment to the school that shaped them all.

The event wasn’t just about speeches. From laughter over classic school slang to stories of youthful mischief, the evening overflowed with joy. The highlight came when alumni of all ages joined in the iconic “jaba dance,” a spirited celebration of identity and togetherness.
Mr. Isaiah Daniel Juuko, president of the alumni association, thanked the entire Vienna family for their overwhelming support. He also expressed optimism for the future of the association and its role in shaping new opportunities.
Principal Kakiika Mohammed echoed these sentiments. He praised the alumni’s resilience and dedication, calling their involvement a clear sign of the school’s lasting legacy.

As the night drew to a close, the celebration continued in style. The best-dressed alumni, both gentlemen and ladies, received a special reward courtesy of Brovard Sands Beach Hotel, co-owned by a Vienna alumnus.
This milestone event would not have been possible without generous sponsors: Stanbic Bank, Centenary Bank, Kibona Safaris, Nile Valley Communications, Brovard Sands Beach Hotel, ISBAT University, and Cornerstone Asset Managers. Their support turned a dream into a moment that will be remembered for years to come.
