Tusker Malt and The Singleton Roll Out Nationwide Band Nights Across Uganda

Live music continues to shape Uganda’s nightlife. Now, Tusker Malt and The Singleton have taken the experience even further. The two brands have launched nationwide band nights, bringing live performances to Kampala and towns across the country.

As a result, weekends in Uganda now come with a stronger promise of live music, vibrant crowds, and shared social moments. On any given weekend, live bands now fill several venues across Kampala. However, this past weekend felt different. Multiple venues hosted coordinated performances at the same time, creating a citywide celebration of live music.

Popular nightlife spots such as Pier One, Isabella, Torino, Zimbali, and The Lawns all hosted band performances. Consequently, revelers enjoyed a lively atmosphere across nearly every entertainment hotspot in the city. Importantly, the music does not stop in Kampala. The initiative also stretches across towns including Kasangati, Mpigi, Jinja, Hoima, Ibanda, Kayabwe, and Nkumba.

Because of this expansion, Uganda’s live music culture now reaches audiences far beyond the capital. Stages, sound systems, and microphones now appear in entertainment venues across the country every weekend. At Isabella in Ntinda, Fridays belong to Abeeka Band, the official influencers of Tusker Malt Band Nights.

Over time, Abeeka Band has mastered the art of reading a Ugandan audience. For example, the group can shift effortlessly from a reggae classic to a beloved song by Maddox Ssematimba. Moments later, the band often transitions into a nostalgic hit from Radio & Weasel, such as “Lwaki Onumya.”

As a result, the dance floor stays packed and Tusker Malt bottles continue to clink long into the night.

Live Bands Anchor the Nightlife Experience

Meanwhile, across the city at Pier One, The Unnamed Band delivers another high-energy performance. Their sets combine East African hits with popular sing-along anthems that keep audiences engaged.

Together with bands like Janzi Band and Vanessa and The Band, these performances highlight a growing trend. Live bands now stand at the center of Uganda’s nightlife rather than serving as background entertainment.

According to Sandra Againe, the initiative reflects the brand’s long-standing relationship with Uganda’s music culture.

Revellers enjoy events in Kampala

“Our commitment with Tusker Malt Band Nights goes beyond great beer,” Againe explained. “We want to preserve and celebrate Uganda’s live music culture. Bands create a connection that feels raw, nostalgic, and deeply communal.”

Because of this vision, the brand continues to support live performances across Kampala and beyond.

While Tusker Malt delivers the rhythm, The Singleton adds a refined social experience. The whisky brand already curates premium lifestyle events such as The Big Meeting, Chef’s Table, and Druncheon. Therefore, the brand complements band nights by enhancing the atmosphere and encouraging social connection.

Simon Lapyem explained that music plays a powerful role in shaping memorable moments.

Singleton’s Big Meeting

“Music transforms an ordinary night into a truly memorable occasion,” Lapyem said. “By joining Tusker Malt Band Nights, we support live music while creating an atmosphere where people connect and celebrate together.”

Together, Tusker Malt and The Singleton have created more than a series of scattered events. Instead, they have sparked a nationwide celebration of music, nightlife, and community.

Today, bars feel fuller, choruses sound louder, and stages stay busier than ever. In a nightlife scene that constantly evolves, band nights offer something timeless: the shared joy of live music and the simple pleasure of raising a glass as the band plays on.

The Tusker Malt and The Singleton Band Nights will continue every week in entertainment outlets across Uganda.
