The Mental Health Run Unites Kampala for Wellness and Change

The morning of September 7th, 2025, carried a special energy through the streets of Kampala. Long before the sun climbed high, runners gathered outside Revive Wellness Clinic for the Mental Health Run Kampala 2025, and every stride told a story of awareness, healing, and hope.

At 7:30 AM, the crowd surged forward. Sneakers hit the tarmac in rhythm, carrying both beginners on the 5km route and seasoned runners on the 10km stretch. Children jogged beside their parents, while friends encouraged each other with every breath. As the group moved through Kololo’s leafy streets, the air filled with cheers from bystanders. The message was clear: no one runs alone when the cause is mental health.

Music flowed gently through the grounds, setting a calming rhythm. Kabera Angel and jBAK Music took the stage with a soulful set that wrapped the audience in warmth. Their voices reminded everyone that healing can be both tender and powerful. In another corner, mats rolled out for a serene yoga session led by Man With a Mat. Participants stretched, breathed deeply, and let go of the morning’s intensity.

The event also sparked meaningful conversations. A mental health panel discussion brought together advocates and experts who shared stories of stigma, survival, and support. Listeners nodded, asked questions, and connected with ideas that pushed the conversation forward. At the wellness tent, volunteers carried out free health checks, reminding everyone that caring for the body is part of caring for the mind.

As the day drew on, it became clear that the Mental Health Run was more than a fitness event. It was a movement. Every registration fee and every shared smile pushed the cause further. Proceeds from the day will help Hearty Spaces fund therapy sessions and psychiatric support for Ugandans who cannot afford care.

The Mental Health Run 2025 was not only about finishing a race. It was about highlighting a conversation that Uganda desperately needs and it ended with the promise that change is already underway.
