Strictly Soul Kampala is returning on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, for a night that promises nostalgia, rhythm, and good vibes at the luxurious Mestil Hotel.
This edition, fittingly dubbed the Independence Day Edition, marks the continuation of a musical movement that has redefined the R&B party culture on the continent. From the days of intimate gatherings at Golden Hill Restaurant to a packed-out Mestil, Strictly Soul has grown into a signature quarterly affair that brings together lovers of smooth grooves, soul classics, and unforgettable sing-alongs.
Organisers announced on August 4th, sparking a wave of excitement across social media. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the next instalment since the electric Holiday Edition on June 2nd, where partygoers danced under the stars and sang along to every beat at Mestil.
This time, the stakes are even higher. With the event falling on a Wednesday and a public holiday the next day, there’s no excuse to miss what’s shaping up to be the most stylish mid-week celebration Kampala has seen in a long time.
Attendees can expect a finely curated selection of R&B and soul anthems from the ’90s to now. From Beyoncé, TLC, and Mary J. Blige, to SZA, Bruno Mars, and Summer Walker, the soundtrack of the night is built for singalongs, two-steps, and soulful moments.

Once again, international turntable wizard DJ Akio will be commanding the decks, joined by a lineup of special guest DJs whose identities remain tightly under wraps, adding to the suspense and allure of the night.
