OUR UNFORGETTABLE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Jamaican dancehall star Dexta Daps shut down Lugogo Cricket Oval on Saturday, December 14th, during the much-anticipated Uganda Waragi Noise Nation.
With gates open by dusk, revellers sipped on Uganda Breweries’ flagship gin, Uganda Waragi Lemon and Ginger, as well as Bell Citrus, setting the tone for a dancehall night.

Before Dexta Daps took the stage, Swangz Avenue artists delivered a stellar lineup of performances that left the crowd off their seats. Azawi, Vinka, Winnie Nwagi, Zafaran, and Elijah Kitaka all performed their hit singles as well as hits from the recently released Swangz All Star album. There was enough time for the Swangz old guns, Benon Mugumbya and Vampino, to roll back the years on the stage.

When Dexta Daps finally graced the stage, alongside a six-by-six bed, the revellers expected nothing short of a memorable performance. Unlike his shows in other countries, where fans often join him on stage for intimate moments, this concert saw local dancer Ritah Dancehall represent the revellers. Dressed in a traditional busutti, she joined Dexta on stage, only for him to playfully rip it off, an act that caused an uproar in the audience.
