Old School Soirée Proves That Classics Never Die

If you were anywhere but Tapas Gastro Bar on the evening of Saturday, July 5th, 2025, you truly missed something special. Old School Soirée returned spectacularly, and from the first moment, the vibes were unmatched. As the golden sun dipped behind Ntinda’s skyline, stylish revellers poured in ready to reconnect with timeless sounds and good energy.

The night was curated by Camelot Concepts and powered by Satulox, with strong support from Ssese Nation. Together, they set the tone for an experience that felt both familiar and refreshingly new. Tapas was transformed into a nostalgic paradise where every beat, every lyric, and every bass drop stirred memories of simpler times.

DJs Kai, Ssese and DJ Ciza laid a solid shift, spinning through a flawless selection of R&B, hip-hop, funk, and old-school dancehall. They kept the energy high, the transitions smooth, and the dance floor busy from the jump.

Ciza opened his set with Geoffrey Lutaaya’s emotional classic “Oli Miss,” instantly grabbing the attention of the crowd. He then took everyone on a nostalgic ride filled with both international and Ugandan rap, vintage dancehall, and throwbacks that had the entire venue singing along. The revellers’ reception to songs from the dynamic Goodlyf duo of Radio and Weasel showed how instrumental they were in setting the Ugandan sound of the 2010s.

From the music to the dancing to the laughter echoing through the venue, the night felt like a love letter to Kampala’s vibrant past and present. The drinks were cold, the fashion was bold, and the sense of community was unmistakable.

With such an incredible turnout and unforgettable performances, Old School Soirée reminded everyone why some moments deserve to be relived again and again. Kampala is already looking forward to the next chapter
