Kabojja Warriors Crowned Champions as ISAL Season 2 Closes

The International Schools Alumni League (ISAL) has quickly grown into more than just a football competition. It has become a community of alumni, friends, and fans who gather every weekend to celebrate the game they love. On Saturday, September 13th, that community came together at Meraki Karting in Bugolobi for the closing ceremony of Season 2, a night that perfectly blended recognition, entertainment, and storytelling.

If Season 2 had one constant, it was the dominance of the Kabojja Warriors. With 8 wins in 10 matches, they towered above their rivals, scoring 21 goals and conceding only 12. Week after week, their consistency set them apart, and by the time the league wrapped up, no one doubted who the champions were.

Leading the charge was Daniel Malong, who bagged the Golden Boot with 7 goals. His sharp instincts in front of the goal gave Kabojja the edge in tight matches. Malong narrowly beat Wahab Kenyatta of Tank Hill Titans (6 goals) and Jude Kivumbi of KISU Lions (5 goals). The chase pack, featuring Alvin Kashilingi, Stefano Loro, and Amani Tindyindewa, ensured the scoring race remained thrilling until the final whistle.

Every season has a breakthrough team, and this time it was the Vienna Titans. Just a year ago, they settled for fifth place. This year, they transformed into serious contenders, finishing second with six wins, two draws, and only two losses. The backbone of their campaign was goalkeeper Ronnie Kasujja, whose 7 clean sheets earned him the Golden Glove Award.

Not every team walks away with silverware, but every team leaves a mark. For the ISU Leopards, that mark came from Stefano Loro. Despite finishing eighth, his vision and passing range lit up the season. With 5 assists, he claimed the Top Assists Award, proving that creativity can shine even in tough campaigns.

Close behind him were Bojo Makur (Kabojja Warriors), Darren Baine (Aga Khan), Ryan Tany (Vienna Titans), and Wilbur Wartmon (Taibah Olympians), each tallying four assists.

  • Surprise of the Season: The Rainbow OGS turned heads by leaping from last place in Season 1 to an impressive 4th this year. Their rise was the ultimate underdog story.
  • Shock Result: Even the mighty Kabojja Warriors weren’t untouchable. Tank Hill Titans handed them a stunning 3-0 defeat, a reminder that no team is invincible.
