Uganda’s legendary Afrigo Band celebrated its 50th anniversary at the “Afrigo Band at 50” celebration, held at the Millennium Grounds, Lugogo, on August 16th, with an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and history. Thousands of fans gathered to witness the golden milestone of a band that has defined Uganda’s soundscape for five decades. From start to finish, the atmosphere buzzed with joy, nostalgia, and pride as Afrigo Band proved once again why they remain the country’s most iconic music group.

The revellers were treated to an electrifying set from Afrigo, led by Moses Matovu and the band’s seasoned performers. Every note carried the weight of history, from soulful ballads to high-energy rhythms that brought the crowd to its feet. Songs like Obangaina, Jim, Sikulimba, and Oswadde Nnyo drew thunderous applause as fans sang every lyric in unison.
